A Funny Thing Happened On The Way To The Apple Store…

Category: Rant, fun, new stuff

Apple StoreYesterday was interesting to say the least.  Me and the family got in the family truckster and went to the mall at Orland Square down the road a piece.  The mission: simple, pick up some iKlear to clean my iMac and VAIO screens.  It’s really great that they finally added a store closer to me than having to drive all the way to Oak Brook, but I digress.

We did the mall thing; Panda Express, Cinnabon(yummy), and Build-A-Bear for the kids.  Lastly it was my turn to go to the Apple store, and got a chance to check out the new iMacs which came out yesterday.

My initial visit was for iKlear only but soon turned to nice little iPhones, but after playing with it, I found the keyboard was just too small for my huge fingers.  After messing with that and the iPod Touch I ended up doing something that is would question my shopping choice.

I tested the iPhone on Amazon’s iPhone site and ordered up an Amazon Kindle.  An Amazon Kindle ordered from an iPhone at the Apple Store.  So I guess you could say Apple enabled me to purchase a Kindle.  Seeing as I didn’t like the Sony PSR-500, the Kindle really delivers.

It does have it’s quirks, but is overall a very nice experience.  If you’re not the early adopter type then the $400 price tag might make you shrug, but I have to say that this is a great experience that could be equaled to that of the iPod Touch.  The Kindle plays music, has internet(Gmail and Twitter!).  So if a phone is not what you are looking for but like books, then this might be a nice alternative.  I’ll post a more thorough review later this week.

So next time I think I’m gonna grab an iPod touch when the moment presents itself.

Well it looks like I have part one of the plan complete and the information from the old site has migrated over to the new one here. Thanks to Dustin Harmin for his assistance.

I figured this would be a nice way to kick things off to the new site with a guestbook via the comments portion of the site. Sign your name(not literally)!

This is it!

This is version 2.0, yeah the nickname was a bit tacky, but I had to distinguish this from the rest. Over the next week(hopefully), there will be a complete migration from the blogger site to this one. Unfortunately most of the old shows have been lost and can no longer be found. So to that, I’m sorry.

But as your cruise director here is what I am planning on getting up in running in a week or two:

  • The return of the podcast!
  • Forums(They didn’t go so well last time, but will be rolled out a little more effectively this time.

These are just two of the items, and of course, as I find the old files, they will be put up as well. So in the mean time there is a brand new Wii show up for your consumption, take a deep breath and help me roll with the changes.

The Wii Show #29 - A Little Less Brian

    Category: podcast

This is only temporary as the TPN servers are down so I am hosting “The Wii Show” here until the solution is finished. Joining me this week in Brian’s stead is Ken Crockett from Game Zone Radio. We discuss the new VC releases, Super Smash Brothers Brawl, what we’re playing, and a lot of other good stuff.
